2013 REPORTS

Report 1: John Sullivan - He is coming off knee surgery this off season but seems healthy and is ready to anchor the O-Line once again. We talk to John about the Vikings line being in tact from last year, his injury, impressions of Sharrif Floyd and the season outlook.

Report 2: Cordarrelle Patterson - He was drafted after a trade moving back into the first round with the 29th pick. We talk to him about his elusiveness with the ball, playing special teams, his critics and his great fan support already in Mankato.

Report 3: Joe Webb - Webb is working on his transition from QB to WR and with some success so far in camp. He is looking good with catching the ball and running routes. We talked to Joe about playing receiver this year,  special team possibilities, and also how playing quarterback is helping in his development as a receiver.

Report 4: Erin Henderson - We talked with Erin Henderson about his move to the middle linebacker position, his comfort zone with it, and new linebackers including the teams two draft picks from Penn State.

Report 5: Jarius Wright - He is a second year receiver out of Arkansas and a 4th round pick last year.  We talk to Jarius about his increased playing time late in the year last season (after Percy Harvin's injury), his role early in the season ahead and his relationship with new acquisition WR Greg Jennings.

Report 6: Xavier Rhodes - He is the 1st round pick they received in the Percy Harvin trade with Seattle. We talk to Rhodes about his transition to the NFL, what he's working on specifically in camp and about the physical receivers he may be covering within the division.

Report 7: Matt Kalil - Kalil's coming of a spectacular rookie season where he was a key piece of the Vikings' offensive line's vast improvement. We talk to him about his addition to the line last year and what it meant  for the rest of the group. We also discuss having all five members of the O line back this year and talk about the offense as a whole.

Report 8: Chad Greenway - The South Dakotan and U of Iowa alumn has received many honors over the years, on and off the field. We discuss some of those; in particular being named the Vikings defensive MVP from his teammates and what that means We also discuss the linebacking core now that it appears Erin Henderson will be moving to the middle.

Report 9: Christian Ponder - Ponder is coming off an up and down season but did finish strong with a regular season finale against the Packers. We talk to him about what made that game his best from a passer rating standpoint, his new receivers in camp and his progression as a QB.

Report 10: Phil Loadholt - He signed a deal as he entered into free agency to stay with the Vikings last off season. He is coming off a solid season. We talk to Loadholt about still being in a purple uniform, the performance of the line last year and playing next to a young guard Branden Fusco and his development.

Report 11: Stephen Burton - He was the star of the offense Friday night against the Texans. Three receptions for more than 70 yards including a long one from Matt Cassel. We talk to him about that reception, his block down field, solid play in Mankato, playing special teams as he did Friday and his impressions of Matt Cassel.

Report 12: Everson Griffen - He is coming off a solid season where he played all over the field defensively and looks to be a player with a lot of ceiling room left who is in the last year of his contract.   We ask him about his versatility, his hopes of being a Viking next year and what specific position he likes playing on the field best when the game is on the line.

Report 13: Harrison Smith - The Vikings traded up in the draft last year to get Smith late in the first round out of Notre Dame.  We talk to Smith about his big rookie season, about some kind words head coach, Leslie Frasier, had to say about him, how he thinks the cornerback position is shaping up for the team and how he and Jamarca Sanford gelled last year as the team's safety combo.

Report 14: Sharrif Floyd - Floyd was picked by many to be a top five draft choice but slipped to number 23 for the Vikings.  He is coming off a bruised knee Friday night, but doctors say he is good to go.  We talk to him about training camp so far, backing up Kevin Williams this year and what he is picking up from him, playing special teams and his transition from U of Florida to the NFL (could be the best soundbite I've heard this camp).

Report 15: Jeff Locke - He was a fifth round pick out of UCLA and will replace long time Viking punter, Chris Kluwe, who is now with the Raiders.  We talk to Locke about being drafted high for a punter in that fifth round, his insight on directional punting and punting indoors at the Metrodome this year.

Report 16: Jerome Simpson - Simpson is coming of an injury plagued 2012 and like last year, has looked very good in Mankato.  We talk to him about the frustrations of his three game suspension and then injuries shortly thereafter. We also discuss his making a good impression in the preseason and the wide receiver depth this year on the team.

Report 17: Blair Walsh - He's coming off a phenomenal rookie season where he had a record ten field goals over 50 yards. We talk to Blair about his all-pro rookie season, about what goes into the consistency of 50 plus yard field goals and having a new place-holder this year with Chris Kluwe leaving and Jeff Locke being his new holder.

Report 18: Kyle Rudolph - Rudolph showed marked improvement last year, becoming a pro-bowler and actually winning the MVP award of that game.  We talk to him about that experience, about how his health lead to his bigger season last year and how the other offensive pieces on the team may lead to more opportunities for him.

Report 19: John Carlson - Of course, Carlson hails from Litchfield, MN and graduated from Notre Dame along with fellow TE Kyle Rudolph.  We talk to Carlson about his disappointing 2012, about how he battled with injuries, his look ahead and his impressions of Kyle Rudolph becoming one of the top tight ends in the league.

Report 20: Chad Greenway - It's our second of a two parter with Chad, as we had him on earlier in the series as well.  In this report, we discuss how he missed all of his rookie season to a knee injury and has come back since that 2006 season and has been an ironman starting in 95 of 96 games. The only reason he was held out of the one start was due to a different defensive scheme initially, but played most of the game.  We talk about what held him out in that start specifically, about becoming an ironman for the Vikings and we also discuss his generous community efforts as he and his wife give their time and money to a lot of charities across the region.

Report 21: Adrian Peterson, Jerome Felton, Phil Loadhoalt and John Sullivan - 2013 Series Finale.
